The Amiga has definitely lived up to its namesake where the Genesis is concerned. It’s been quite the friendly machine, providing many quality games that made the jump to the little 16-bitter. Some though, lent themselves better to the conversion than others, and a few have issues that really affect the experience. Take Cannon Fodder, for instance. The tiny sprites and status box really hampered what was otherwise an exceptional version of a classic game. It’s still playable, but how much so will depend on how good your vision is.

Jammit
Street basketball is well-represented in video games. From early classics like Jordan vs. Bird to the immensely popular NBA Jam series, there are quite a few games from which to choose (so long as you ignore White Men Can’t Jump on the Jaguar!). Jammit, Virgin Games’ entry on the court, may lack the real players of NBA Jam, but it sure does make up for it in attitude!
Tyrants: Fight Through Time
Strategy games are very cool, and Tyrants is one of the better ones on the Genesis. Read our full review for all the details!
Caesar’s Palace
Everyone dreams of winning it big at a casino, raking in tons of cash on a lucky streak and becoming instant millionaires. Unfortunately, video game casinos can’t make your dreams come true, but they at least try to offer some fun in short bursts. Some are better at it than others though, and Virgin Games’ Caesar’s Palace, for example, tries to provide a good time, but this is one casino where the house always wins.
Robocop vs. the Terminator
Crossovers can be hit or miss. Few of them are great, and even fewer are successful enough to warrant merchandizing. Dark Horse’s Robocop vs. Terminator comic was one that not only brought together two of Hollywood’s most beloved action franchises, but it did it so well that it became an instant classic. Video games were commissioned, and the Genesis got a version that’s as long as it is brutally hard. This one’s not for the squeamish or the easily frustrated, so which one are you?
