Jennifer Capriati Tennis
Wimbledon may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t continue enjoying the tennis action of pros! As always, the Genesis has you covered, with Jennifer Capriati Tennis, a game featuring the bad girl of the sport. Suprisingly, this isn’t another one of those licensed shovelware pieces normally associated with a big name. There’s some real depth here, and the game is a lot of fun. It also has the creepiest title screen in all of gaming.
Davis Cup World Tour
Tennis is one of the most competitive sports there is, and very few events are more challenging than the Davis Cup. Be it in singles or doubles competition, the stakes are too high to allow even the most minor error, and those who stumble have only next year to look forward to. Tengen made a stellar effort to bring the action home on the Genesis, and Davis Cup World Tour remains one of the best tennis titles on the console.
Pete Sampras Tennis
Sega’s done a great job of getting its tennis franchise back to form with Virtua Tennis 3, and it brings a great deal of fun and realism to the sport. Not that tennis has ever really lacked in the fun department. From the excellent Super Tennis on the SNES to the great Pete Sampras Tennis series on the Genesis, there has always been a good game within reach.
