College Football’s National Championship
Anxious for football season to start? Here’s one game you might want to go back and check out. It was one of the BlueSky’s better football games and the last one to use the fabled Sports Talk feature. The NFL may be weeks away, but there’s some solid college football action available on the Genesis, so give it a tackle.
Rugby World Cup ’95
Are you a fan of rugby? If so, you might want to check out EA’s Rugby World Cup ’95 on the Genesis. It’s not spectacular, but it does a reasonable job of emulating the sport on the 16-bit hardware. There aren’t a lot of these games on the console, and this one is far from the best. Still, it’s worth spending some time with if you find it at a decent price.
Tecmo Super NBA Basketball
Looking for a Genesis basketball game that’s a bit different from NBA Live? Perhaps Tecmo Super NBA Basketball is one to consider. While not perfect, it offers a decent alternative to EA’s game, with real teams and players and enough simulation options to keep you playing the entire season.
FIFA International Soccer (Game Gear)
Electronic Arts’ FIFA Soccer series has long been a standard of excellence, but the Game Gear version kind of trips over the ball in some areas. While not a bad game, it fails to live up to the legacy of its 16-bit siblings. Still, it may be worth looking into if you’re itching to play some soccer and come across a copy at a decent price.
