Fahrenheit (32X)

The FMV deluge continues! The 32X version of Sega’s Fahrenheit came bundled with the regular Sega CD game. The difference? Better video quality! Unfortunately, it’s the same game otherwise. Take a deep breath and read our full review and remember, when your house is filled with FMV games, stop, drop, and roll!

Genesis Reviews

Ex-Mutants

The Genesis is home to lots of comic book games. There are plenty of Marvel titles and even a few DC. Also, there are some titles based on independently published comics, like The Tick, Dinosaurs for Hire, and Chakan: The Forever Man. Rubbing elbows with such company is Sega’s Ex-Mutants, based on the Eternity/Amazing/Pied Piper/Malibu series. An action/platformer with little to distinguish itself, it’s still worth spending some time with, provided that said time isn’t important at all and involves little cost.

Lost World: Jurassic Park

The original Jurassic Park set the movie world on fire with its dramatic tale of living dinosaurs and science gone wrong. The game was hyped just as much, though reactions were (and still are) mixed. Of course, the inevitable sequel came, and Sega released a Genesis version soon after. Actually the third Jurassic Park game on the console, The Lost World was the final original domestic release for Sega’s 16-bit wonder until Majesco ported Frogger a year later. Our poor Genesis was indeed inherited by reptiles and amphibians!

Surgical Strike

Full-motion video games are a staple of any Sega CD library. Heck, you seemingly can’t own the add-on without having at least one in your library. Back when Sega was betting the farm on the genre, its TruVideo line was producing titles on a regular basis. Some were decent (Wirehead), and some were Surgical Strike. I know you can’t believe we found another bad FMV game, but at least try to feign surprise. For us, please?

Sega CD Reviews

Prize Fighter

The Sega CD will forever be remembered for having the largest library of FMV games around, and there are a ton of different opinions regarding the overall playability of the genre. Regardless of how you feel about them, one thing we can probably all agree on is that some FMV games should maybe never have been attempted at all due to the gameplay constraints they placed on the concept they were trying so hard to bring to life.
