Many of our favorite games actually owe their releases to a small group of people or even a single producer. Some now-classic Genesis games got their chances to shine thanks to producers with a keen vision of quality. Among them was Mac Senour, who had major influence in the release of classics like Gunstar Heroes and Ranger-X.
In only a few years, we went from the greatness that was Duck Hunt and Rescue Mission to the total mediocrity that was the Menacer 6-Game Cartridge. Seriously folks, it takes longer to assemble the darn thing than it does to play through this dull assortment of mini games, and you’ll quickly find yourself reaching for Terminator 2: The Arcade Game.
Every console has a light gun, the Genesis included. Unfortunately, it seems that the 16-bit generation overall didn’t pay much attention to them, as both the Menacer and its SNES counterpart, the Super Scope, received only a handful of games in total. Despite the small library, there are some good games out there, like T2: the Arcade Game and Body Count. So, is it worth tracking down a Menacer for your console?
