Comix Zone is one of the most amazing games on the Genesis. Every aspect of the game: the gameplay, the control, the graphics, and the sound, smack of first-rate effort. You can tell a lot of effort went into the game, and it paid off in spades. The game has a certain charm to it that no game since has been able to match.

Revenge of Shinobi
The Revenge of Shinobi was released in 1989 for the Sega Genesis and is a 2D side-scrolling action title that pits you, as Joe Musashi, against a plethora of no-goodniks and other evil people. You are given a nice little arsenal of attacks to use to vanquish your evil opposition and the game is notorious for allowing you to fight a couple of comic book heroes as Bosses, most notably Spider-Man.
Sonic CD
Sonic CD was released in 1993. A side-scrolling action game like most of the other Sonic games, the famous hedgehog’s first CD outing contains some of the fastest and most engrossing gameplay ever.
Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine is one of the most addictive puzzle games I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. That’s probably because it uses the legendary Puyo Puyo game play style, which is widely-regarded as being among the best puzzle game systems.
Golden Axe
Sega kicked off an incredible franchise with the original Golden Axe, which hacked its way into gamers’ hearts as well as arcades worldwide. The Genesis port is actually superior to the coin-op original, as it has more levels and a great versus mode. This one defines the term “classic” and should be in every Genesis library.
