Shiny created a star with Earthworm Jim, and the character went on to become one of the most recognizable heroes of the 16-bit era. There’s good reason for that too, as the 2D games in the series defined the fusion of excellent gameplay and stellar presentation.

Long before Project Gotham Racing, Bizarre Creations had already garnered fame for their fresh and innovative games. Among them is a little-know action/platformer named Wiz ‘N’ Liz, in which players take control of two little wizards on their way to rescue…rabbits. The weird thing is, it’s actually quite fun!
Izzy’s Quest for the Olympic Rings
Just another victim in the 16-bit mascot wars, Izzy lacked everything that made one so appealing in the first place. Less popular than Sonic and half as appealing as Bubsy (ouch!), poor Izzy was a poorly thought-out attempt at attracting attention to the Olympics. Sonic the Hedgehog ushered in a new age of mascots with attitude, and the world has yet to fully recover. One of the more guilty parties is Bubsy, Accolade’s pantless bobcat. In a total of two underwhelming adventures on the Genesis, he singlehandedly showed us why cash-run mascots are the work of the devil.
