Marko CD

Let me see if I’ve got this right. Marko’s Magic Football was originally released in Europe on the Mega Drive, Mega CD, and Game Gear, and all made it across the pond to the U.S. except for the CD port. Eventually, the Sega CD version finally saw distribution in 2003 by Good Deal Games, which undoubtedly made all those who bought the incredibly expensive European original very unhappy. During the conversion process, the name was chopped off, no doubt due to America’s insistence in calling the sport “soccer,” but regardless of what it’s called, Marko is still a solid platformer that’s worth checking out.

Prince of Persia

Few platformers are as enthralling and challenging as Prince of Persia. If the jumps and sword duels didn’t get you, you still had to contend with time limit. It was lots of trial and error combined with lots of patience and skill, and gamers loved it. Thankfully, Tengen came up with a pretty decent port for the Genesis.

James Bond: The Duel

James Bond’s completed missions on virtually every console ever made. He only made one appearance on the Genesis, which probably has a much to do with Dalton’s mixed reception as the character as it does with mediocrity of the game itself. James Bond: The Duel isn’t a bad game; it just isn’t really a good one. Hey, that sounds a lot like what people say about Dalton’s Bond!
