Captain America and the Avengers

Most super hero games turn out, well… less than good. Ah hell, let’s be honest. Most of them just plain suck. With Captain America & the Avengers, Data East took a campy, corny arcade game and brought it home pretty faithfully to the Genesis. Still, a good port of a bad game is still a bad game. Panic!

Every once in a while, you discover a video game that comes straight out of left field. You can’t really describe it, because there’s precious little to compare it to. You only know that you’re faced with something truly inspired, truly clever. I don’t think there’s a better example of that then Panic!. This game is just damned weird.

Two Crude Dudes

Data East offered many games to the Genesis library, and among the best of them was Two Crude Dudes. An arcade port, the Genny version manages to maintain all the fun and humor of the original, without losing much of its game play in the transition to console.

Mega Turrican

Data East brought us one of the best run-‘-n-gunners on the Genesis, and gamers were amazed at the evolution of Turrican from his original Accolade release. That had a lot to do with these being the only Turrican titles released on the platform, but what a way to cap off the series!
