Sometimes, games get canceled for a reason, and Burning Fists is a prime example. Even finished, it would have been a less than mediocre fighter, but in its semi-beta state, its almost too poor to warrant playing. Unless you just have to have every Sega CD game and don’t mind playing what is essentially a late beta, stay away!
In 2006, Penn & Teller’s Smoke and Mirrors for Sega CD was finally leaked for public consumption. The much-hyped title only took eleven long years to arrive, having been shelved after publisher Absolute Entertainment went belly up. Despite never seeing a true retail release, it was completely finished (which is why we’re reviewing it) and so begs the question: is it any good? Well, there’s actually more to it than the (in)famous “Bus Ride” segment.
After some serious playtime, Sega-16 has finally reviewed Beggar Prince. We would have covered it sooner, but…well, we were too busy playing! After so long, actually getting a chance to play a fresh Genesis RPG is something that tolerates no interruption, and we’re in this one for the long haul.
