SEGADATE: 2-14-08. We’ve encountered a copy of the Genesis game Star Trek: Crossroads of Time, featuring the crew of Deep Space Nine. Initial scans reveal that the game is mediocre at best, and our away team’s findings seem to confirm this. I’ve sent our science officer, Lt. Commander Burr, to re-examine the game in order to ensure that there is no immediate danger to the crew or anyone else in Starfleet.

Minnesota Fats Pool Legend
It’s time to rack ’em up! A good billiards game is hard to come by, and Lord knows there’s been many attempts at making one. The Genesis got in on the action with a few titles, and notable among them was Data East’s Minnesota Fats Pool Legend. Solid and good for some relaxing cue ball action, this one’s worth tracking down.
Skeleton Krew
Say what you will about Core Design now, but back on the Genesis and Sega CD it was smokin’ hot. Soul Star, AH3 Thunderstrike… all games that really took advantage of their hardware. Skeleton Krew wasn’t as much of a graphical showcase as those two, but it was decidedly different at the time. Unfortunately, it may have been a bit too different, and the gameplay took a hit as a result.
Ecco Jr.
One of Sega’s most enduring franchises since the Genesis era has been Ecco the Dolphin. The famous cetacean has appeared on almost all its consoles, and he manages to turn up where you’d least expect him. Case in point: Ecco Jr., a game in Sega’s short-lived Sega Club line that was geared towards the younger set. Adapting a franchise known for its difficulty for children was one heck of a challenge, and we have a full review of the finished product.
Road Rash 3: Tour de Force
We’ll be off on Tuesday to usher in the new year, but we’ve one article left for 2007. Sega-16 caps off a great year with a review of the final Genesis installment of the Road Rash series. Part three raised the bar and set the stage for the franchise on 32-bit platforms.
