Delphine Software’s Flashback: The Quest for Identity set a new standard in just how much could fit into a cartridge, and it showed us that a great story, wrapped around excellent gameplay, was the true way to create a classic.

Vay
After gifting gamers with the RPG bliss that was Lunar the Silver Star, Working Designs got to work localizing their second release, Vay. Considered to be the hardest of the WD Sega CD quartet, it was actually a sweet little game, and it featured some interesting story elements to boot.
Soldiers of Fortune
PC lovers know the Bitmap Brothers well, and they’ve enjoyed plenty of hits over the years. Genesis owners got a good piece of the pie too, with such classics as Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe. Another hit with Soldiers of Fortune, which was known as the Chaos Engine on the Amiga, made its way to both 16-bit consoles. It definitely has its fans, and we have a full review on it to persuade those fence-sitters to run out and get a copy!
Sub-Terrania
Some games are hard. Not enough to frustrate, but just enough to pose a serious challenge. Other games seek to dominate you completely, and you’re feeble skills are no match for their relentless and never-ending onslaught. Sub-Terrania is one such title, and it’s a game where there’s really no middle ground. You either like it or hate it.
After Burner III
Nothing is more depressing than seeing a beloved franchise take a hit in the family jewels. Such was the case with After Burner III, a game that ignited its thrusters to make a mach 3 jump from awesome to “just plain sucks.” Take a deep breath, leave your expectations at the door, and head on in to our full review.
