Steel Talons

Quite a few of Atari’s polygonal arcade hits found their way to the Genesis, surprising many. Most were competent facsimiles of their coin-op siblings, but only so much could be done with software. The Genesis was simply not made to run advanced polygonal games, and while it may not reflect as much in the visuals, it certainly does in the framerate and gameplay.

R.B.I. Baseball 4

Just because the World Series has ended doesn’t mean fans have to move on to another sport. The Genesis offers tons of baseball games from which to choose, and among them is Tengen’s R.B.I. series. The fourth edition improves upon its predecessors in many ways, but it still has some major flaws. Is it worth playing? Read on and see!

Warrior of Rome II

Want to conquer the world? Ever have a desire to be master of all you survey? Well, then we’ve got a game for you! Micronet’s sequel to Warrior of Rome fixes a lot of what was wrong with the original game and makes total domination easier than before. There are still some issues with difficulty, but it’s well worth playing and a great addition to any Genesis library.

Jordan vs. Bird: Super One-on-One

One would think that a basketball game feature two of the greatest athletes to ever play would be a no-brainer for greatness. Unfortunately, Electronic Arts proved us wrong. Stiff, unintuitive gameplay overshadows some excellent presentation, and what should have been the definitive version of One-on-One ends up bench-warming for all the others instead.
