Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball

Baseball season may be over, but there are plenty of options for Genesis gamers to choose from so they can continue their quest for the pennant. ’90s baseball icon Frank Thomas lent his name to a title that was actually a pretty good version of the sport. Couch sluggers and managers should definitely give it a try.

Battletoads (Game Gear)

The NES classic pummels its way onto the Game Gear, but it seems like this port is what took a beating. Playing far worse than the 8-bit and Genesis versions, Battletoads on the Game Gear is devoid of everything that made the series so much fun. Another example of what happens when a series is farmed out to a different developer.

Phantasy Star

What can really be said? This is the one that started it all! Phantasy Star kicked off an epic franchise and pushed the limits of what an 8-bit console RPG could do. It was a sight to behold when it debuted in 1987 and has aged very well. Anyone who has yet to join Alis, Odin, Myau, and Noah on their journey to defeat Dark Force needs to clear their calendar in a hurry.
