Hands-On: Sonic Lost World (Wii U)
In 2013, Sonic returned for another adventure that many hoped would help erase his prior 3D history. Sonic Lost World on the Wii U is a step in the right direction, though it takes a little time to appreciate. It’s not perfect by any means, but there’s enough meat on the bone to make this one 3D Sonic game worth checking out.
Magic Girl Featuring Ling Ling the Little Witch
Gametec’s Magic Girl gets a second chance on the Genesis, thanks to Super Fighter Team. Translated and bug-fixed, the game is now of the level of quality one would expect from a commercial release. It may be a bit short, but there’s enough action and fun in this cute-’em-up to make it a worthy addition to any Genesis fan’s game library.
New 3D Golf Simulation: Waialae no Kiseki
Still looking for another golf title to try out? Tired of the PGA series and any of the multitude of golf games on the Genesis? Here’s one you probably haven’t tried. Be wary though. It hasn’t aged well visually, and the language barrier may push you away. Still, it’s interesting to find that there are still genres offering new experiences to Western Genesis players, even sports like golf.

Jerry Momoda has been fortunate to work at some of the most influential game companies at times when they were either dominating the market or pushing hardware boundaries. With a résumé that includes Nintendo, Atari, and Namco, he was a major force behind the western release of Sega arcade hits like OutRun and Hang-On, as well as Stun Runner for Atari and Tekken at Namco.
