King of the Monsters

Companies like Takara brought many Neo Geo ports to the Genesis, including the King of the Monsters series. Though the sequel is better, the original offers some simple fun that’s still worthy of some play. Just be sure to play it first, as its limited monster selection and repetitive gameplay pales next to its successor.

Hands-On: Sonic Lost World (Wii U)

In 2013, Sonic returned for another adventure that many hoped would help erase his prior 3D history. Sonic Lost World on the Wii U is a step in the right direction, though it takes a little time to appreciate. It’s not perfect by any means, but there’s enough meat on the bone to make this one 3D Sonic game worth checking out.
