Rugby World Cup ’95

Are you a fan of rugby? If so, you might want to check out EA’s Rugby World Cup ’95 on the Genesis. It’s not spectacular, but it does a reasonable job of emulating the sport on the 16-bit hardware. There aren’t a lot of these games on the console, and this one is far from the best. Still, it’s worth spending some time with if you find it at a decent price.

Preview: Paprium

You’ve waited four long years, but WaterMelon’s next game is finally coming! Paprium could well be the best side-scrolling beat-’em-up ever made, and it’s set to take the Genesis to places no one thought it could go. WaterMelon has a pretty good track record for quality, and there’s no reason to doubt that it won’t deliver with this monster brawler.

Columns (Game Gear)

If you’ve only played the Genesis version of Columns, then you need to track down a Game Gear and play the portable edition. It offers different options and a whole other feel to the gameplay that makes it more than just a watered-down port of its 16-bit sibling. It’s one of the best puzzle games on the Game Gear and arguably the best version of Columns overall.
