Default Sega Net and Warrior of Rome 3

    Hello everyone,

If I remember correctly, Sega had this title called Warrior of Rome 3 (or III). Does anyone have a copy or a location for it?

I have the first two, here at my house. I do not think the third installment was ever released on a cart.

I am almost 99% sure though I saw it on seganet many years ago. However, I cannot find the rom/iso anywhere on the internet.

WoR3/III does bring up hits for other consoles, so I know this is not a total figment of my imagination.

    Thanks

    Jon

As far as I can tell, Warrior of Rome III was in development for SNES, but canceled. I can find nothing on it being for Genesis in any form. Warrior of Rome II, however, was available on Sega Channel for a while.

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.

Hmm, so maybe I just misread things and I saw WoRII on SegaNet, especially if you say it was cancelled on the SNES

This article at SNES Central says Warrior of Rome III was in development for both Genesis and SNES, and was shown at the 1993 Summer CES (Consumer Electronics Show):

    http://www.snescentral.com/article.php?id=0150

A scan of the SNES cover art is included. It'd be great if a prototype could be found (for either 16-bit system), or at least footage of the game from the show.

There's also this bizarre claim from the GameFAQs review of Warrior of Rome II:

(On a side note Warrior Of Rome 3 was released on the Super Nintendo in Japan and uses the same game engine as 2 except it is upgraded a little bit and has a new story. This is probably the most rare game for that system only 500 of them were printed due to financial constraints of the publisher. Considering how good 2 is 3 is probably real good if someone could find it that would be cool. As for now no one knows where a copy is)
Presumably the author's just making it up, but it's oddly specific in the details, and based on the rest of the review he's clearly played WOR II.
