While most Americans are watching football, many around the world enjoy playing cricket. The British sport is played on almost every continent, so it shouldn’t be surprising that there is a Mega Drive version. It also shouldn’t be surprising that it wasn’t released in the U.S. Still, it’s an excellent rendition and a great chance for Genesis owners to learn about this unique and engaging game.

Total Football
Among the many Genesis soccer games is a title that was never released in North America. Total Football is a competent game that may be worth closer examination, but its quirky control scheme and sub-par feature list may keep more diehard fans glued to their copies of FIFA and Sensible Soccer.
PGA European Tour
On the Genesis, Electronic Arts developed a reputation for solid golf titles that largely endures to this day. The PGA series has long been its signature series, and the variety within the franchise, while not major, was enough to give golf fans more than a steady diet of titles to enjoy. PGA European Tour continued that trend.
Lord Monarch: Tokoton Sentou Densetsu
Fans of the Shining Force series should definitely try out Lord Monarch. Despite the language barrier (there’s help for that online), the game is a solid entry into the strategy genre that is highly reminiscent of Sega’s seminal franchise.
Iron Helix
Looking for a puzzle-solving, sci-fi thriller for your Sega CD? Iron Helix may be your game. Combining the interface of a graphic adventure with full-motion video cut scenes and puzzle elements, the game offers an experience uncommon on the platform. It may not be as deep as later titles, such as “D” and “Enemy Zero,” but it’s definitely worth playing.
