Gametec’s Magic Girl gets a second chance on the Genesis, thanks to Super Fighter Team. Translated and bug-fixed, the game is now of the level of quality one would expect from a commercial release. It may be a bit short, but there’s enough action and fun in this cute-’em-up to make it a worthy addition to any Genesis fan’s game library.

New 3D Golf Simulation: Waialae no Kiseki
Still looking for another golf title to try out? Tired of the PGA series and any of the multitude of golf games on the Genesis? Here’s one you probably haven’t tried. Be wary though. It hasn’t aged well visually, and the language barrier may push you away. Still, it’s interesting to find that there are still genres offering new experiences to Western Genesis players, even sports like golf.
Sagaia (Master System)
Taito brought its Darius goodness to both the Genesis and the Master System (outside the U.S.), and the latter turned out to be a very good version. It’s lacking in some areas, but the overall essence of the game still shines through. Fans will want to try and catch this fish and give it a play.
Royal Stone: Hirakareshi Toki no Tobira
The Game Gear is chock full of great RPGs, and some of them never left Japan. Royal Stone, the sequel to Crystal Warriors, is one game that got left behind. It’s an incredible strategy/RPG with beautiful presentation and engaging gameplay. And it’s now been translated into English! Game Gear owners everywhere need to track down this incredible title.
Fun ‘N’ Games
With mini games and both music and painting editors, Fun ‘N Games had potential to be a unique title on the Genesis. It fails to hit the mark, but there’s still enough here to keep the little ones entertained for a while. It’s diverse enough to be worth a look, and parents just might find themselves having fun making some music!
