The Star Wars saga explodes onto the Game Gear! Combining platforming action with vehicle stages, the game offers a decent reproduction of the movie. It’s not a perfect game, but the good seems to outweigh the bad, making it a decent addition to any Game Gear owner’s library.
Electronic Arts’ FIFA Soccer series has long been a standard of excellence, but the Game Gear version kind of trips over the ball in some areas. While not a bad game, it fails to live up to the legacy of its 16-bit siblings. Still, it may be worth looking into if you’re itching to play some soccer and come across a copy at a decent price.

It also marked the start of a great handheld franchise that sparked two sequels. The original is still a great game to play and one that should be in every Game Gear owner’s library.

The game was soon ported to the Master System, and while several compromises had to be made for it to work on the less-powerful hardware (and with a controller), the conversion turned out surprisingly well. It’s one that’s worth checking out.
