Anxious for football season to start? Here’s one game you might want to go back and check out. It was one of the BlueSky’s better football games and the last one to use the fabled Sports Talk feature. The NFL may be weeks away, but there’s some solid college football action available on the Genesis, so give it a tackle.
Reviews
Chuck Rock (Game Gear)
Virgin’s lovable caveman belly-flops his way onto the Game Gear, but he’s kind of devolved in the process. Instead of a Cro-Magnon hero, we instead got a Neanderthal who lumbers through dark and silent stages. While the core (no pun intended) of what made the Genesis game is intact, the presentation and gameplay have suffered.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms II
Few companies know the strategy genre like Koei, and its Romance of the Three Kingdoms series has endured for decades. The second game appeared on the Genesis, and while it’s a bit rough in the interface, there’s some fun to be had if you’re a fan of political intrigue and nation-building.
Ecco the Dolphin (Game Gear)
If you haven’t played some version of Ecco the Dolphin yet, you’re definitely missing out on a unique and innovative take on action games. The Game Gear version is a great way to get started with the franchise, as it offers all the gameplay and charm of the original, with some nice details added. This is definitely one you’ll want in your game library.
Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker (Master System)
Wooo! Michael Jackson dances his way onto the Master System! While not as potent as its Genesis sibling in presentation, the 8-bit version of Moonwalker is still a good game that captures the essence of the musical legend. If you’re looking for a new game for your Master System and have some cash to spare, this one is worth adding to your library.
