Outlander

Outlander was originally slated to be a Mad Max game, but the licensing rights fell through at the last minute, and the title and presumably some visuals in the game were changed to avoid lawsuits. The game isn’t hurt at all though, as the game is still what an ideal Mad Max game would be, only without the name.

VectorMan

VectorMan is a unique game in that is as much a platformer as it is a shooter. The game boasts some stunning rendered visuals, which give it a look all its own and were really advanced for its time. VectorMan is set in a post-apocalyptic world (circa 2049) that has been overrun by evil and it’s his job to defeat the evil scum WarHead and return the world to normal.

Golden Axe

Sega kicked off an incredible franchise with the original Golden Axe, which hacked its way into gamers’ hearts as well as arcades worldwide. The Genesis port is actually superior to the coin-op original, as it has more levels and a great versus mode. This one defines the term “classic” and should be in every Genesis library.
