There’s something to be said about straight-up shooters. I’m not talking about the “lone pilot vs. invading aliens” classics. No, I mean one guy with a BIG gun just squeezing the trigger until the vibrations stop! Dynamite Duke appears to be the game to fit the bill in this regard, until you actually play it. Aren’t explosions and big armament supposed to invoke some kind of a response? Shock and awe, meet your evil twin.

Eliminate Down
The Genesis is home to many a shmup, boasting a total library of over seventy. And just when you think you’ve saved the planet from an alien invasion one too many times, another game comes along that’s worth checking out. This time around it’s Eliminate Down, an import title that can run upwards of $150 on eBay. There’s a reason why people are so eager to pay big bucks for this one folks, and it definitely has more to do with quality than rarity.
Road Rash 3: Tour de Force
We’ll be off on Tuesday to usher in the new year, but we’ve one article left for 2007. Sega-16 caps off a great year with a review of the final Genesis installment of the Road Rash series. Part three raised the bar and set the stage for the franchise on 32-bit platforms.
Simpsons: Virtual Bart
By now you’ve ripped open all your gifts, and the sink is still strewn with the dirty dishes from the family feast. What’s there left to do? Why play your Genesis, of course! If you’re looking from something to exchange for those unwanted gifts, then maybe you should take a look at Acclaim’s Virtual Bart. I know, I know. Acclaim? A Simpsons game? Such a match usually has its origins in hell, but this one might surprise you, especially if you pick it up on the cheap side.
Daze Before Christmas
Daze Before Christmas is an Australia-only release, a seasonal platformer that Americans missed out on. Being one of the few Christmas-themed titles on the console, there’s obviously some curiosity as to whether or not it’s worth playing.
