After playing so much Super Hang-On, we were really looking for a new motorcycle racer to keep us busy. Kawasaki SuperBike Challenge seemed to fit the bill, with its polygonal graphics and smooth scaling. Unfortunately, it bored us to tears, and we’re still looking for that racer.

Disney’s Ariel the Little Mermaid
One would think that a Disney game developed by BlueSky Software (VectorMan, World Series Baseball) and released by Sega would be a recipe for a blockbuster. Unfortunately, such was not the case. Ariel the Little Mermaid was a shallow, repetitive game that left many wondering how such a good license could have been squandered. With mermaids, sharks, and witches, this should have been good. Instead, it stinks like yesterday’s fish.
Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA All-Stars
There are a ton of hockey games on the Genesis, and EA seems to have the crown. Be that as it may it doesn’t mean we don’t have to take a look at the other games, and Time Warner Interactive took to the ice with its own entry. Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA All-Stars had the endorement of the Great One himself, but how good is it?
Heart of the Alien
The original Out of This World was an incredible game, combining awesome storytelling with a solid gameplay experience. The sequel, Heart of the Alien, was released for the Sega CD (along with the first game, all on a single CD), and it received less fanfare than its predecessor. Is it because it’s an inferior game, or did the media just pass by this one entirely?
Super Tempo
Tempo for the 32X was a wacky platformer that had dancing bugs, yodeling, and even flying cows. Though American gamers also saw a watered-down version released on the Game Gear, they never got a chance to check out the Saturn sequel, Super Tempo. It was only released in Japan, and it currently commands very high prices on sites such as eBay (an expensive Saturn import? NO WAY!). While we can’t go out and buy everone a copy, we can at least show you what you may have missed. We’ve put the game through its paces and can at least offer another glimpse into the world of Tempo and his friends.
