One of Namco’s biggest franchises saw two sequels on the Genesis and then upped and disappeared. Successfula and popular, the story of Rolling Thunder is one that mimics something you’d hear about on True Hollywood Story. Why was it abandoned? Who knows. All that is known is that the Genesis got two awesome action games, one of which was an exclusive.
During the 16-bit era, mascots were a dime a dozen. Unfortunately for many of them, attempting to recapture Sonic The Hedgehog’s massive success proved much harder than anticipated, and most fell by the wayside. A few did manage to survive into the next generation of consoles, and one such straggler was Bubsy, Accolade’s smart-mouthed bobcat. He didn’t get too far though.
Ever since the original Landstalker made its debut back in 1993, Climax Entertainment has repeatedly left us wanting more. Several spiritual sequels have been released, the greatest of all done by someone other than Climax itself.
