Viacom New Media had a healthy stable of popular shows in the ’90s, many of which were on Nickelodeon. Naturally, most of those shows had video games on the consoles of the time, and the Genesis saw its fair share. Among them, Aaahh!! Real Monsters was one title that tried a team dynamic that worked to mixed results.

Chester Cheetah: Wild Wild Quest
Sonic’s success brought forth a deluge of mascot platformers, and many seemed more like cheap imitations that solid competition. Brand name characters were especially popular, and Kaneko scored a hit with Chester Cheetah of Cheetos fame. Unfortunately, his second outing drifted even farther from Sonic’s winning formula.

Classic game shows are a wonderful place to meet new people and experience what makes retro gaming so awesome. It’s also a great place to pick up games really cheap! We went to this year’s Midwest Gaming Classic and have our impressions (and pictures) for you. Enjoy!
Formula One
The Genesis has a ton of racing titles, and while there are the classics like OutRun and Micro Machines, there are stinkers like Formula One. This game skimps on the graphics in favor of speed but forgets one major detail: control. A racer is nothing if it controls poorly, and that about sums this one up.
IMG International Tour Tennis
Itching for another excuse to break out that multi-tap? EA’s tennis game might not be as awesome as Mega Bomberman or any of the Micro Machines games, but it’s still a good way to get some multi-player action going with friends.
