If there’s one game show that has endured throughout the years, it’s Family Feud. From its TV debut back in 1976 to the newest incarnation this year, the program has managed to remain popular. So popular was it, that it was ported to just about every game console ever made (I think I have the Game.com version here somewhere!).
Among the many mascots to grace the Genesis library, James Pond occupies a unique position. Being both a console and computer star, he suddenly disappeared from the public eye… at least in the U.S. It turns out he’s been an active star in his native U.K. for some time after the fall of the 16-bit era. The Ren & Stimpy Show: Stimpy’s Invention did a great job of capturing all the charm and humor of the classic cartoon series, and though it had its share of flaws, there’s more than enough fun here to make it worth playing. Heck, I got it just so I could smack Stimpy around!
Unlike most of Disney’s other platformers, which brought the Genesis some excellent gameplay and animation, TaleSpin is thoroughly mediocre. I guess the whole plane theme is fitting, as this one starts its engine but never really gets off the ground.
