If there’s one thing that lasts forever, it’s the game show. Staples like Jeopardy! and The Price is Right have been on TV since the dawn of mankind, and they’re still going strong. Also among the game show elite is Wheel of Fortune, which recently celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary. As with Jeopardy! Gametek squeezed the license dry by releasing versions for every piece of electronics on the market.

Caesar’s Palace
Everyone dreams of winning it big at a casino, raking in tons of cash on a lucky streak and becoming instant millionaires. Unfortunately, video game casinos can’t make your dreams come true, but they at least try to offer some fun in short bursts. Some are better at it than others though, and Virgin Games’ Caesar’s Palace, for example, tries to provide a good time, but this is one casino where the house always wins.

Ever since Sterling Silver Software (later called Polygames) started the PGA Tour Golf series on the Genesis, consoles have been getting a yearly fix. The franchise is huge now, with brand exclusivity and Tiger Woods’ face plastered on the box, but it all started on Sega’s little black box.
Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures
Namco has maintained Pac-Man in the public eye for almost three decades, reinventing him every so often so that younger generations of gamers never forget the premier mascot of the industry. The incredible Pac-Man Championship Edition on Xbox Live Arcade, for example, shows how the yellow icon still has what it takes to make an impact. It hasn’t always been this way though. Over the years, Namco has tried all kinds of different formulas with Pac-Man, and some weren’t as successful as others. One of the more offbeat variations of the theme was Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures, which adopted a graphic adventure interface and took a lot of the chomp out of the gameplay.
