Ottifants

Among the many European titles that never came to the American Genesis was Ottifants. Based on an obscure property that wasn’t all too well known in its native territory, it’s no surprise that Sega of America deemed the subject matter to unfamiliar to U.S. audiences for a localization. Depending on your tastes, you may or may not be missing much as a result.

Features, Hands-On

Hands-On: Shining Force (iPhone)

Sega has certainly made a point to bring the original Shining Force to as many platforms as possible, with the game appearing on several compilations. Of course, a mobile phone version couldn’t be far behind, and the game slashed its way to the iPhone this past summer. Time Warner attempted to capitalize on this success with Primal Rage, but the results were less than satisfying. Clumsy gameplay and difficult control left it far short of the animalistic Street Fighter many gamers were hoping for.

Hands-On: Sonic Colors (Nintendo DS)

Sonic The Hedgehog has had mixed results in his platform outings since he roared off the Genesis, but his handheld adventures have a pretty decent track record. Sega continues that trend with Sonic Colors for the Nintendo DS, bringing fast-paced action and adventure in another game that pits the famous hedgehog against Dr. Eggman. We’ve given it a complete hands-on, so read the full article and see if this one is worth adding to your library.
